Khemmarat : A true Isaan city

I think I must start to say I was not born in Khemarrat but it is the city in my heart since I was little girl playing with my sisters. I was born in Bangkok but I always visited my family nd sisters in North in Khemarrat Ubon Ratchathani Province. I want to write today to give a little information about this beautiful city I love very much.

Khemarrat is very far from Bangkok. More than 680 kilometers away. It is part of Ubon ratchathani Province with Ubon the Capital of the Province.Not many people live in Khemarrat, but they all very proud to live there. the city is very old. more than 200 years old at least. and there are many festivals that people like to celebrate at Khemarrat.

Songkran is my favorite festival because it is so hot in Summer and throw water at everyone makes feel better. I always come back to Khemarrat to celebrate Songkran. Everyone comes back like me and want to celebrate in the city because it is full of traditions and very famous in Isaan.

The problem is that there is not many things to do in Isaan and when I go to Khemarrat I always eat som tam and take care of my nephew and niece.

But what I do and love to do in Khemarrat is to go to Thalat, the marketplace and by the food I cook at night with my family. Khemarrat is a family city. All the men and the women they love to party at night together and have fun in family.

Khemarrat is a traditional city that helps me relax from the noise and crazy of Bangkok. I think you should visit this little city because it is a part of Thailand that nobody see. The traditions and the beautiful landscape are very typical of Isaan.
