Ubonratchathani is the province that is the most east north province in Thailand. You can even go and visit on the mekong river in Ubon and see a sign that says here is where the sun rises first in Thailand.
Ubon is one in seventeen provinces of North Eastern region also called Isaan Region of Thailand. Isaan region is the most populated region of Thailand and holds 50% of the country's population. I think we can saythat Ubon ratchathani is the heart of Isaan region. It is full of agriculture and industries of all kinds.
It is a province that we all know for its Isarn style food which has very quite spicy dishes even for Thai people sometimes. There are also many local Thai handicrafts here as well as Thai silk.

It doesn't matter if Ubon is 629 kilometers from Bangkok, it is not isolated. You can get here by car, train, bus or plane.
